ENGLISH:

“It’s time to eat” and “Thanks for the meal”…
Are words that bring a smile to my face.
With a joyful helping of rice, today’s a happy day too!

I wanna eat rice with eggs.
A home-cooked feast is great too!

Even without a main course, it’s okay.
There’s always steamy rice in the pot of a happy home.

Dreams are vast and plentiful.
If everyone eats as much as they want, we’ll be full of energy!

Rice is the energy of love~.

Ahh~ Rice is delicious.
Ahh~ Rice is delicious.

“Seconds please” and “Help yourself”…
The sound of them makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
A joyful helping of rice is invincible!

If you work up a sweat with a bit of exercise,
Your tummy’ll sing a melody of hunger!
That’s when things are the most delicious!

To cute girls and boys,
A journey isn’t as important as rice!

With the courage and passion within you,
A finished recipe will leave you full and satisfied
And it’ll be great!

Rice is a present of love~.

Ahh, Oh rice, thank you!
Ahh, Oh rice, thank you!

Dreams are vast and plentiful.
If everyone eats as much as they want, we’ll be full of energy!

Rice is the energy of love~.

Ahh~ Rice is wonderful~
Ahh~ Rice is wonderful~.

SCRIPT A | SCRIPT B

EDIT: I’ve updated both scripts to fix a few typos people have been kind enough to point out, so if you want the fixed scripts, they’re up there. Nothing majorly different of course. To play the video with the new script, just rename the script as the same name as the video file and make sure that both files are in the same folder. Enjoy!

(SD will be up shortly)

Well… this is certainly a thing. I love Pokemon. I grew up with the anime (up until Ash and company reached the Hoenn region actually). I still love playing the games (and I’m anxiously awaiting my paycheck to buy a 3DS because I desperately WANT to get Pokemon X). So when I first saw the trailer for this special the nostalgic kid in me instantly declared that I would translate it. And that brings us here. As always, QC was done by my good friend Bikkun. Enjoy the release everyone!

If you have SOFCJ’s raw for this, then you can just pick up the script of your choice up there.

The MKV file has two sub tracks. The first script, A, is the default script and it has American names and terms where applicable. The second script, B, uses the original terms, with attack and items translated to English.

Also, you may want to grab this font if you get the softsub version, if you don’t already have it installed.

NOTES:

“Serpatiger” – The original Japanese here is セパルトラ (Separutora), which, actually, was revealed to be Charmander’s Japanese proto-type name before they settled on Hitokage. (Image)

“Mr. Brock” – I actually honestly wanted to just put “Brock”. And I did… until I hit the brick wall that was “さんをつかおう!さんを!”, which literally means “-san! Use -san!”. I’ve seen a different release handle this line as “Show some respect!”, which would work, if say the honorific was something like -sama instead of -san. As it was, I just decided to bite the bullet and have these two treat Brock with respect and call him “Mr.”.

“Signor Giovanni” – Okay, I admit this was me being cute. The original honorific was -sama, and “Master Giovanni” is a perfectly serviceable translation of this, but I used “Signor” because… well… Giovanni is an Italian name and he’s the head of a criminal organization.

“Syrup Drop” (Song Translation)

Yes. I SHOULD be translating 41. I really should. But I got distracted. Here’s Syrup’s character song.

Dou shitanda yo… sonna kao shichatte?
Omae rashikunai ja nai ka… mezurashi sugiru yo.
Komacchaunda yo Zutto damarareru to
Muri ni warau koto mo nai… kedo, shinpai suru sa.

What could have happened… for your face to be like that?
This isn’t like you at all… it’s beyond rare to see.
It’s kind of a pain… to stay silent all this time…
I never laugh at unreasonable things… but I still worry.

Chiisa na shizuku ga ima hiza no ue ni ochita
Pocket no drop wo yaru kara, namida wo fukina.

A small drop fell atop my knee just now.
Because there’s a drop in my pocket, I won’t wipe my tears.

Sora wa jiyuu da na, iron na iro ga aru.
Ore wa donna ni tooku datte toberu
Doko kara kite, doko e yukun darou.

The sky is ever free, with various colors within it.
No matter how far, I can fly it no problem.
I wonder where I came from and where I’ll go.

Tabi wo suru no ga sugoku tanoshii no wa
Kaerubasho ga aru kara da yo.

Going on a journey is extremely fun,
Because you have a home to come back to.

Chotto mukashi ni utsusareta shashin ni
Nokoru ato wa… Aa, ore no namida datta kamo na.

In the photo you gave me, a little while ago,
The only thing that’s left is… Ah, it might be my own tears.

Naita kao ga waratta shiore kumori ga hareta
Terekusai toki wa mou ame no sei ni surya ii sa

My tearful face turns to laughter as the depressing clouds part.
I’m fine with saying the bashful times are because of the rain.

Sora wa sunao da na, uso nante tsukenai yo
Ore wa hito mawari kaze wo kiri, modotte
Nazo no kotae hitotsu mitsukerunda.

The sky keeps you true to yourself, lies can’t go on forever.
I’ll ride the wind in one swoop, and come back,
And I’ll find one of the answers to the mystery.

Tabi no miyage ga sugoku jiman na no wa
Nakama-tachi ga matsu kara da yo.

You can take lots of pride in the souvenirs from your journey,
Because your friends are waiting for them.

Sora wa jiyuu da na, iron na iro ga aru.
Ore wa donna ni tooku datte toberu
Tsuyoi hane de shizuku wo furihatte.

The sky is ever free, with various colors within it.
No matter how far, I can fly it no problem.
Shake off the drops on those strong wings.

Tabi wo suru no ga sugoku tanoshii no wa
Kaerubasho ga aru kara da yo.

Going on a journey is extremely fun,
Because you have a home to come back to.

Script

This is a very fun “here’s the big bad” episode. Hope you enjoy it~ Also: It was brought to our attention that the CRC is off on episode 44. For those of you with the file already, just replace the CRC tag with [7EEC0024] in the filename. They’ll be replaced in the links momentarily for those who don’t have the file yet. Secondly: It turns out we got a line wrong in episode 48. And it’s kind of an obvious line (and kind of important) so when we do a batch of our releases (when we’re done), expect a v2. But for the moment, the script will be updated with the correction (a special thanks to Basaka from #precure for catching it, <3).
